1. The agreement
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the HaloRide mobile applications, websites and related services (the "Services") provided by HaloRide Technologies Ltd and its affiliates ("HaloRide", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Services you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Additional terms may apply to particular features, promotions or regions. Where they conflict with these Terms, the additional terms govern for that feature.
2. What HaloRide does
HaloRide is a technology platform that lets riders request transportation from independent drivers ("Drivers") and agree a fare with them. HaloRide does not itself provide transportation services, and Drivers are not our employees unless local law provides otherwise.
Our Fair Price feature provides an estimated fare range, a breakdown and an explanation to help riders and Drivers agree a price. Estimates are guidance based on available data and are not a guarantee of the final price, travel time or route.
3. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account. Riders under that age may only travel with an account holder who is responsible for them where local rules permit.
- You must verify a mobile phone number you control.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You may need to complete identity steps — such as a selfie or national ID check — before certain trips, including trips at night.
- You are responsible for activity on your account. Keep your device and one-time codes secure; HaloRide staff will never ask for your code.
4. Requesting a ride and agreeing a fare
When you request a ride you will see an estimated fair range and may submit an offer. Offers below a minimum threshold (the "fair floor") cannot be submitted. Drivers may accept your offer or propose a different price. A binding agreement for the trip is formed between you and the Driver when you select a Driver’s response.
The agreed fare is the price for the trip as booked. Changes to the destination, added stops, waiting time beyond the allowance, tolls or other charges disclosed in the app may change the final amount, and you will see any change before it is charged where practicable.
5. Payment, fees and receipts
You may pay by card, HaloRide wallet or cash where available. Card payments are processed by our payment partners; we do not store full card numbers. By adding a card you authorise us and our partners to charge it for trips, fees and amounts you owe.
Each fare includes a safety fee that funds trip monitoring. Your receipt shows the estimate, the agreed fare, a breakdown, the safety fee and HaloRide’s service fee.
If a payment fails, the amount may be recorded as an outstanding balance on your wallet, which must be settled before your next booking.
6. Cancellations
Cancellation fees, no-show fees and their exceptions are set out in our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. The app shows any fee before you confirm a cancellation.
7. Safety features
The Services include safety features such as SOS, trip monitoring, trip sharing and danger-zone alerts, operated with our safety partner Sety. These features are designed to help but cannot prevent every incident, and do not replace emergency services. In an emergency, also contact local emergency services.
Misuse of safety features, including deliberate false SOS alerts, may result in suspension.
8. Your conduct
You agree to follow our Community Guidelines, treat Drivers with respect, and not:
- damage a vehicle, or leave it in a condition that requires cleaning beyond normal use;
- carry illegal items, or items or animals the Driver has not agreed to (assistance animals excepted);
- ask a Driver to break traffic or other laws;
- use the Services to commit fraud, harassment or any unlawful act;
- interfere with, copy, scrape or reverse engineer the Services.
Damage and cleaning fees may apply where supported by evidence, as described in the app.
9. Ratings and feedback
After each trip, you and the Driver may rate each other. Ratings and tags help maintain standards, contribute to vehicle Car Scores, and may be used to restrict access for users who fall below community standards.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, HaloRide disclaims warranties not expressly set out in these Terms, including that estimates will be accurate or that the Services will be uninterrupted.
To the extent permitted by law, HaloRide is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for losses caused by Drivers or third parties. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
11. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or the Community Guidelines, if required by law, or to protect the safety of our community. Where appropriate, we will tell you why and how to appeal.
12. Disputes and governing law
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any issue informally. Unless local consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere, these Terms are governed by the laws of the country where you use the Services, and disputes will be resolved by its competent courts.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If changes are material, we will notify you in the app or by message before they take effect. Continuing to use the Services after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
